31st March 2018: The Renewed Date for Linking Aadhar with Mobile number
Now, it is going to be more convenient for you to link yoout mobile number with Aadhar as the process of online linking for the same has started. But you can also choose to visit the nearest mobile store and get the linking done by registration through the process of biometrics.
Three simple ways have been introduced by the Government of India via which your phone number linked with that of the Aadhar. Here are the three methods of online verification that you need to complete by 31st March 2018.
1. Verification using OTP (One time Password)
2. Agent-assisted Authentication
3. IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System)
Also, the Government of India has passed orders to the telecom companies to complete the process of linking Aadhaar with mobile number also called re-verification, at the door-step of the people including senior citizens, disabled and chronically ill people. This will be a great relief to a section of the people in country who, for these related reasons cannot visit the mobile stores in physical.
Let’s make it clear on, “how you can link your Aadhaar with your mobile number”!!
1. Verification using OTP (One time Password)
It has been ordered by the Government of India to initiate the process of requesting “OTP” on ones mobile number which is registered with Aadhaar. This mode of re-verification will help the users to verify their other numbers (other than the mobile number registered in the database), that people may be using. This process will be processed though the platform of mobile apps or websites.
2. Agent-assisted Authentication
In the move the process of linking has now been simplified, as the telecom operators have now been asked not to disclose to the agents the e-KYC details of the subscribers! This was not the case before. Also, the details of subscriber’s data will not be stored on the device of the agent after the verification process is done.
3. IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System)
Specifically designed Applications will now be used for verifying the mobile numbers using IVRS or interactive Voice Response System.
And, last but not the least; the Government had also directed the operators to make use of IRIS Scanning devices at their said terminals or services canters. This will particularly be targeted to disabled and senior citizens, who find it difficult to verify the process of authentication using the finger verification method.
An important point to be noted here is that, in addition to linking the existing mobile number with Aadhaar, one has to fulfill the Aadhaar based e-KYC verification when applying for a new connection now.
The Government is gearing up to complete the process of Aadhaar based re-verification as early as possible, probably by the end of the year!!
Let’s cooperation with this initiative of the Government by following the rules and regulations as deployed!!
