Josh Inglis is an Australian cricketer who plays as a wicket-keeper and right-handed batsman. He was born in Leeds, England, on March 4, 1995, and moved to Australia with his family when he was 14. Inglis is a versatile and hard-hitting batter, and is also known for his sharp glovework.
Inglis grew up in Perth, Western Australia, and developed a passion for cricket from a young age. He played for various junior clubs and age-group teams, and was eventually selected for the Western Australia under-17 and under-19 sides.
Inglis's father, Paul, was a professional cricketer in England, playing for Yorkshire and Leicestershire. His grandfather, Geoff, also played for Yorkshire.
Inglis made his first-class debut for Western Australia in the 2015-16 season. He struggled for form in his early years, but made a breakthrough in the 2020-21 season, scoring 585 runs at an average of 48.75, including three centuries.
Inglis also made his debut for the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League (BBL) in 2017. He quickly established himself as one of the best wicket-keeper batters in the competition, and was named the BBL Player of the Year in 2021.
