Mohammed Shami Introduction

Mohammed Shami Ahmed is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian national cricket team in all formats of the game as a right-arm fast bowler. He plays domestically for Bengal and, in the Indian Premier League, for Gujarat Titans.

Early Life and Family

Shami was born on 3 September 1990 in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, India. He is the youngest of four sons of Tousif Ali and Anjum Ara. His father was a farmer and his mother was a housewife.

Early Cricket Career

Shami started playing cricket at a young age. He was initially a batsman, but he switched to bowling after he was inspired by the Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan. Shami made his first-class debut for Bengal in the 2010-11 Ranji Trophy season. He quickly impressed with his pace and swing, and he was soon called up to the Indian national team.

International Debut

Shami made his international debut in an ODI against Pakistan in January 2013. He bowled a brilliant spell of 9-4-23-1 in his debut match, and he was immediately hailed as one of the most promising young fast bowlers in the world.

Shami has had a very successful Test career. He has played 64 Tests for India and has taken 229 wickets at an average of 27.71. Shami is the third fastest Indian bowler to reach 200 Test wickets (in 49 matches). Shami is a very dangerous bowler in Test cricket, and he can take wickets on any pitch.
