Harry Cherrington Brook is an English cricketer who plays international cricket for England and domestic cricket for Yorkshire. Primarily a right-handed batsman, he also bowls right-arm medium pace. He made his international debut for England in January 2022.
Brook was born on 22 February 1999 in Keighley, Yorkshire. He is the son of former Yorkshire cricketer and current coach David Brook. Brook began playing cricket at a young age and attended Sedbergh School, a renowned cricket nursery.
Brook made his first-class debut for Yorkshire in 2016 at the age of 17. He scored his maiden first-class century in 2018 and went on to establish himself as one of the most promising young batsmen in England.
Brook was selected in the England squad for the 2022 T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. He made his international debut on 26 January 2022 against the West Indies.
Brook made his ODI debut for England against India in July 2022. He scored a half-century in his debut innings and went on to have a successful series, scoring 204 runs in three matches.
Brook has played 17 T20Is for England, scoring 347 runs at an average of 28.92 and a strike rate of 159.22. He was part of the England team that won the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Brook made his Test debut for England against South Africa in September 2022. He scored a century on debut and went on to have a remarkable first season, scoring 809 runs in his first six Tests at an average of 80.90 and with a strike rate of almost 100.
Brook has not yet captained any teams at the international level.
